Job Description
In this key role, you will oversee
Network Cancer Program accreditation for six sites,
cancer conferences and quality outcome studies using
registry data. You will work with supportive physicians
and lead our strong and committed Oncology Data
Management team to maintain Commission on Cancer (CoC)
and Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) requirements, as well as
establish and develop collaborative relationships with
physicians, administration and other departments.
Required Qualifications
Requirements:
-
At least 5 years experience as a
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), to include at least
2 years experience in network cancer registry
management.

CTR certification required
-
Bachelor’s degree and RHIA/RHIT
preferred.
-
Must have knowledge of statistics,
medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, cancer
registry software and databases.

Must also be able to interpret
data/statistics and have working knowledge of MS
Office.

Requires excellent communication,
teamwork and leadership skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience
managing a multi-site registry and leading Commission on
Cancer Accreditation, be able to work collaboratively

St. David’s Medical Center
Job Description
Maintains components of Cancer
Registry in accordance with American College of Surgeons (ACOS)
requirements for approved cancer programs and Texas Cancer Registry
reporting requirements. Interacts with medical staff, staff of
physicians’ offices and other health care providers, and staff of
various hospital departments in order to maintain program components.
Shares her time between North Austin Medical Center and St. David’s
Medical Center.
Interacts a great deal with the
Medical Staff as well as other hospital departments; handles
confidential information; makes difficult decisions; utilizes computer
equipment; keeps current on legal requirements; keeps current on ACOS
and Texas Cancer Registry requirements. Strong personal computer
skills with two years experience using personal computers. Must be
able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing, in
person and over the telephone.
- Abstracts patient records in accordance with ACOS, Texas Cancer Registry and hospital Cancer Committee requirements.

cases to be
abstracted.
