Job Description:

Performs complex technical and consultative work in public health cancer registration and control. Duties are performed under the limited supervision of the Southwest Texas Registry Operations Group Manager and direction from the Team Lead. Coordinates, implements and supervises casefinding surveys in cancer reporting institutions. Performs complex technical work in the area of quality control review and serves as reviewer for incoming cancer reports and/or medical records submitted by reporting institutions and/or coded by regional staff. Consults with local health agencies (i.e., hospital personnel, private physicians) to implement systematic methods of casefinding and quality assurance to ensure the identification and reporting of all cancer cases to the Cancer Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch (CESB), Texas Cancer Registry (TCR). Work is performed with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Some travel is required.

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Southwest Texas Registry Operations Group Manager, serves as Team Lead and assists in managing and coordinating cancer epidemiology & surveillance activities. Performs administrative, advanced consultative services, and technical assistance work required in directing and facilitating cancer data reporting and cancer data dissemination in the Cancer Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch (CESB) and Health Service Regions.
